Curriculum stands for what is to be taught to the students. But pedagogy stands for how to implement that learning. The classroom programs involve technology and smart learning components that help the kids in visual observation and audio learning. This sort of innovation in the educational process delivers the intended learning outcomes.

At Geeta Vidya Niketan World School, we focus on the overall nurturing of the kids, including:

  1. Experiential Learning
  2. Project-Based Learning
  3. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Art and Mathematics) Learning
  4. Honing Multiple Intelligences
  5. PSPE (Personal Social and Physical Education)
  6. Activity Based Learning

The kids in the primary stage are at a stage where they learn differentiating things and learn and grow their view which eventually helps them to come to the surface with their own unique identity. As a tutor and a guide, we instill the concept of learning in the students at this stage by allowing them to ask questions, discover the answers through lessons, and apply methods to develop subject-specific cerebral knowledge. Our institute thrives on developing innovative ways to simplify the concept and enhance the learning potential of kids by involving technology and experimental teaching.

Focus

For the kids to be groomed, practical learning is very crucial. Keeping this in mind, we have come up with an integrated program that includes physical activity and creative upskilling of kids that facilitate their healthy mental and ravishing personality development. These curriculum subjects are all-inclusive project methods and activities that make learning fun and thrilling for the students. These curriculum activities by the school are focused on implanting moral and ethical values in kids along with academic knowledge so that when they face the practical world, they can contribute their portion and make an effect through their presence.

  • Co-Scholastic:

As you can understand from the name itself, the central essence of the co-scholastic activities and here our teachers tend to assess the student based on three grades. These are A= outstanding, B= Very Good, and C= Fair. Usually, our teachers assess soft skills like punctuality, sincerity, and teamwork in these fields.

  • Work Education:

One of the primary reasons we have focused on the domain of work education is because it can aid our students in inculcating skills crucial for their life. These are usually social responsibilities and are essential for being a promising societal figure. For the work education field, we have got three different sectors that comprise of :

  • Art Based Education ( Both visual as well as performing arts)
  • Health as well as physical education to keep our students physically fit. ( Fields like sports, yoga, and many more)
  • Soft skills like discipline and punctuality.

We always make sure that we take into account the other fields as well, like the participation of the students, the efforts they put in, and the teamwork before grading our students.

Curricular Activities

The main essence of our school policy is that we always focus on those prerogatives that aid our children’s holistic growth. We do that with creativity, education, and a practical approach that will help in better learning. The special features that we tend to focus on in this respect are:

Take Part In Projects Which Are Collaborative Along with Presentations and Cumulative Events.

At GVN World School, we always encourage our students to participate in events and activities that allow them to learn more with the help of critical thinking, teamwork, and holistic creativity.

One of the major reasons why students work in this domain is to ensure they can establish themselves as major leaders in the upcoming generations. The development of soft skills is equally important.

Constant Exposure To Practical Learning with Enough Experimentation.

Learning is a collaborative process, and with the help of the same, we make sure that learning is more long-lasting. We ensure that it can have a more profound learning experience for the students.

Celestial Study.

Students need to ensure they have a profound knowledge of space and astronomy. There are a lot of students who want to develop in this field and explore more in the domain of celestial studies. We offer the students recreational science classes that aid them in finding better opportunities.

Robotics

We believe that students should always have exposure to new science techniques, so we have introduced the concept of robotics class. The class allows the students to develop an affinity in the field of robotics and then can apply the robotic and engineering techniques for future advances. The Robotics class gives a lot of exposure and allows one to venture into other fields.

Sports Ventures

We always try to ensure that our students’ health is in the best condition, which is why we have also incorporated the concept of sports facilities. We aim to ensure that our students can venture more and have a safe abode for their physical development. The facilities aid our future sports personalities in realizing their potential.

Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL)

NITI Ayog suggested the concept of ATL, which we welcomed warm-heartedly. Enhancing their scientific temperament helps develop students’ innovative and creative abilities. It teaches students through various regional and national level competitions, exhibitions, workshops, problem-solving, designing, and fabrication of products, along with regular lectures periodically. This initiative allows students to think and generate new ideas. With this, the student becomes ready to deal with the practical tasks of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)

GVN keeps students hooked even beyond school hours in sports activities. We offer a huge play area for different indoor and outdoor sports for the students. Here, students can play the following games:

  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Golf
  • Shooting
  • Cricket
  • Gymnastics
  • Badminton
  • Chess

Parent Engagement

We work with parents to help them feel like an important part of their children’s educational years to live up to our motto, “Together towards tomorrow.” We want to encourage parental involvement in the educational process while fostering the relationship between parents and teachers. We do it by:

  • Workshops
  • Coffee mornings
  • Participation in school events as judges
  • Assemblies
  • Regular parent-teacher meetings
  • Exchange Programs

Seminars and Workshops.

For the constant development of our students, we must give them exposure, and that too with the help of seminars and workshops. Why do we do that? A workshop offers you an experience that is quite communicative and different from the usual classroom setup.

Also, the seminars and workshops allow the students to get exposure and hands-on experience with eminent names in the field. It automatically allows them to learn better and explore the field with more perseverance and vigor.

Project-Based Learning

We must remember that long gone are those days when learning was only about bookish teaching. Today there are so many more innovative ways, and project-based learning is certainly one of them. It is one of the key techniques we follow at GVN World School. How does it aid our students? The best thing is that our students develop a profound knowledge of learning, along with the help of working on projects. It helps them to be involved in the domain and research extensively.

The project-based learning, in turn, is extremely instrumental. Throughout the session, we ensure we can give our students practical exposure. Not only that, we tend to put up quite a few fairs. Our students get the onus of choosing which projects they would like to work on and then develop further. The best thing is that this project-based learning helps them develop profound learning.

  • Topic: Multi-Cultural Fair (Cultures of different countries)
  • Type of Project: Group Project (Each class assigned one country)
  • Aspects to be covered: Language, food, clothing, architecture, music, dance forms, and festivals
  • Time allocated: 30 days

Results: After receiving the project details, the students learned about the nations assigned to their particular classes. Teams were created to delve further into the subtopics, and group discussions on highlighting the culture came next. Different student groups got to work on the invitations, display, props, music, PowerPoint presentations, costumes, and other specifics. After a month of planning, students finally displayed the culture of various nations in their classrooms by turning one space into a different country. This fair demonstrated the students’ exceptional skills in addition to showcasing the culture of a particular nation. They gained skills in teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, innovation, and, most importantly, self-expression.
